В статье речь идет о глубоко специфичном отношении к смерти в рамках различных культур. Эта специфика отражается не только на уровне обрядов и практик, связанных со смертью, но и на их изучении. Анализируя изучение некрологических текстов в англоязычных и немецко-язычных исследованиях, автор констатирует различие исследовательских подходов к этим текстам в зависимости от принадлежности их определенному культурному локусу. Американские ученые работают чаще всего в рамках gender studies и media studies, английские исследователи уделяют большее внимание вопросам социолингвистики и коллективной памяти, исследователи из Азии и Африки вполне вписываются в постколониальную парадигму, а немецкоязычные исследователи работают в области сравнительного изучения культур.
In the paper we are talking about deep-specific attitude towards death in different cultures. This specificity is reflected not only at the level of rites and practices associated with death, but also affects their study. Analysing studies of obituary texts in English and German, the author notes the distinction of research approaches depending on the belonging to a particular cultural locus. American scientists are often within gender studies and media studies, British researchers focus more on sociolinguistics and collective memory, the researchers from Asia and Africa fit well into the post-colonial paradigm, and German-speaking researchers work in the field of comparative study of cultures.
