Статья посвящена анализу цензурных вмешательств в издания романа И.А. Ильфа и Е.П. Петрова «Золотой теленок». Выявляется специфика деятельности цензоров, соотнесенная с конкретными политическими установками, актуальными на период подготовки каждой публикации. Анализируется мотивация цензурировавших романный текст и конкретные результаты их деятельности. Установлено, что исходная публицистическая компонента в рукописи, подготовленной самими авторами, существенно снижена при цензурном контроле.

The article deals with the analysis of censorship interventions in the editions of the novel “Zolotoi telenok” by I.A. Ilf and E.P. Petrov. It reveals the specifics of the censors’ activities, correlated with specific political attitudes relevant to the period of preparation for each publication. The motivation of those who censored the novel text and the specific results of their activities are analyzed. It is found that the original journalistic component in the manuscript prepared by the authors themselves was significantly reduced under censorship control.
