The historically shaped dialogue between Armenian and Russian cultures has embraced the richness of content and diversity of forms of Armenian-Russian literary connections. Those ties particularly developed in the 20th century, fostering multiple interactions within the context of a large state uniting different peoples. The journal “Literary Armenia”, founded in 1958, contributed to the expansion and strengthening of literary interaction, largely updating the picture of “ties”, bringing to light the faces and figures that until times had remained in the shadows. The journal became involved, in particular, in the process of gradually introducing readers to the creative heritage of Russian literary classics of the 20th century, which had for some time been consigned to oblivion. During the 1960s, relying on previously established facts of real connections, a number of publications were carried out, introducing the reader to the texts of Bely, Mandelstam, Tsvetaeva, Voloshin and others. Access to the materials of the personal archive of the literary scholar, critic, translator N. Gonchar, who at that time worked in the editorial office of the journal, as well as access to the editorial archive allows the article to highlight the grounds, principles and methods of implementing those series of publications by the journal. Special attention is given to the publication from the legacy of I. Bunin, the coverage of which is given using little-known and unknown material.
