В статье на основе воспоминаний Н.А. Прахова, хранящихся в отделе рукописей Третьяковской галереи, освещена история колонии русских эмигрантов на острове Капри. Главное внимание уделяется деятельности каприйской школы пропагандистов и М. Горького. Российские революционеры и представители творческой интеллигенции вели на Капри активную общественную деятельность, которая, несмотря на лояльное отношение, вызывала беспокойство у местного населения и властей.
In this article the history of the colony of Russian emigrants on Capri Island is presented, based on Prakhov’s memoirs from the archive of the Tretyakov Gallery. The main emphasis is laid on the activity of the Capri Propogandistic School and M. Gorky. Russian revolutionaries and representatives of intelligentsia were so socially active that local community and authorities got worried, in spite of the fact that Italians were loyal towards them.
