В ходе своего развития они демонстрируют тенденцию к объединению в общую вертикальную структуру и затем формированию на ее основе многоуровневой композиции, которая разрастается в ширину за счет включения зооморфных и человеческих фигур. Такая композиция обычно строится по геральдическому принципу и представляет Мировое древо с его адорантами. Эти изображения находят параллели в кипрской архаической вазописи среди иконографических вариантов «священного сада» с женскими фигурами, представляющими материнских божеств, которые несут кувшины для возлияний и вдыхают аромат цветков лотоса. За подобными образами кроется метафора возрождения умершего после исполнения погребального обряда, с сопутствующим ему ритуалом возлияния.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Painted vases of the Free-field style dating to the seventh century BC are among the most original products of Cypriot artists. Operating with a limited number of primary motifs, such as solar discs or floral signs, they create a new compositional type, multi-level and including both animal and human figures. The most common subject-matter of this painting seems to be the World Tree flanked by adorants. These images find parallels among the other Archaic Cypriot vases representing the so-called Sacred Garden, with goddesses carrying libation jugs and inhaling the aroma of lotus flowers.
