Abstract

An activity in Poland of the Warsaw Provisional Committee on fighting the famine in Russia is highlighted on the basis of documents from the former Prague archives. The main attention is paid to the plans and actions of the Committee to aid the starving people. It is concluded that, despite the desire to better the lot of hunger bitten compatriots in Russia, the Committee could not provide an actual assistance due to lack of relevant organizational and material capabilities.
