Basic trends of Egypt’s foreign economic relations after Hosni Mubarak

Abstract

The article analyzes main present day trends of Egypt’s foreign economic relations. After the public unrest of the so-called Arab Spring of 2011 which ousted the Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, economy in Egypt has been hit hard. Till now the Arabic Republic of Egypt desperately needs an external source of financing. Egypt’s success will depend much on it’s correct choice of foreign partner. Still each of the potential financial donors is ready to provide Cairo with a selective aid, but the country won’t be able to solve all the problems it faces this way. That’s why the foreign economic policy of Egypt includes various trends.
