“Deliberating” narrator in a mythological narrative

Abstract

The article considers the position of the narrator as a consciousness subject in mythological story. The presence of reasoning and motivation in the speech party of the narrator, that distinguishes the mythological text from other folklore genres, is related to peculiarities of the situation of mythological prose existence and general setting for the authenticity of the text. The actual modality of the mythological story determines text functioning within the context of the relevant conversational and spoken discourse and of acting within the discourse tendencies peculiar to the spoken language. one of such tendencies is the domination of the speaker as a subject of knowledge, opinions, evaluations, which is reflected in the subject organization of the mythological text.
