Abstract
This article considers methods and propaganda techniques of the newspaper “Pravda” during the Constitutional crisis of 1992–1993. The newspaper consistently defended the standpoint of the Supreme Council of the Russian Federation in its confrontation with President B.N. Yeltsin. The “Pravda”-line was built on accusations of the president’s supporters in fomenting a conflict between the executive and legislative branches of power and in striving to establish a personal dictatorship.
