Works in the genre of “dreams” in the journal of the Academy of Sciences “Monthly essays...”

Abstract
The article reviews works in the genre of “dreams” published by the journal of the Academy of Sciences “Monthly essays for the benefit and entertainment”. “Dream” as an integral work is considered as a separate genre, which has a number of distinctive features. This genre was new for Russian literature and was originally assimilated by it as translations from various European periodicals, collections and books.
