Abstract
The article focuses on reception of the movie Two Comrades Served directed by Evgeny Karelov with a script by Yuli Dunsky and Valery Frid. The movie was shot towards the 50 anniversary of the October Revolution. The article analyses reviews issued after the release of the film. The article shows how the heroic discourse of the perception of revolutionary events is changing. The way the film depicts the revolution erased the strict opposition “us–them”. The emphasis is placed in such a way as to formulate a new idea of national unity, for which the anniversary of the October Revolution was successfully chosen.
