Abstract

The article is devoted to topical issues of taxonomy of modern stylistics. It compares the positions of a number of Russian and foreign scientists who analyze the direction of the stylistics evolution in the conditions of constant expansion of the Internet communication space. The author raises a question about the formation of new scientific directions – the media stylistics and Internet stylistics. Based on the latest empirical material, the author confirms the existence of the media text as a special subject of research within the framework of media stylistics. The prospects for the development of Internet stylistics as an independent scientific discipline are called into question due to the heterogeneity of Internet communication and its reproduction within phenomena that are subject to analysis in the framework of functional stylistics.
