Abstract
This article presents a meta-analysis of the study in the definitions of the concepts “blog” and “blogger” in Russian interpretations. The goal is to use small examples of basic tasks for a researcher (to define concepts, identify persons and chronology, etc.) to show threats and solutions in working with digital network sources. Challenges for a modern researcher are identified, including against the backdrop of the rapid development of AI technologies and generative neural networks. In particular, it gives examples of discrepancies in definitions and interpretations, replication of unreliable information in public and scientific texts. The principles for overcoming difficulties are outlined and some provisions for working with sources are formulated, which can be attributed to the development of the concept of “Source Studies 2.0”.
