Abstract

The article attempts to examine the field of intermedial studies from the perspective of theoretical and historical poetics, tracing the transformation of the “intermedial character” at different stages of the development of European poetics (the era of syncretism, the era of eidetic poetics, and the era of artistic modality). The introduction of the concept of “intermedial character” into scientific discourse allows for a more precise analysis of the subjective aspect of intermediality in literary works and the description of another intracompositional form of intermediality (according to W. Wolf) at the level of the subject-object organization of the text.
