HISTORY OF JOURNALISM AND LITERARY CRITICISM
12-25 215
Abstract
This work focuses on the specific features of the reception of V. Grossman’s novel “Life and Fate” in conservative Soviet press of the late 1980s. It is noted that most of the reviews appeared in two conservative journals:“Nash sovremennik” (“Our Contemporary”) and “Molodaya gvardiya” (“The Young Guard”). All the articles contained copious critical remarks which, in their turn, were all caused by the ethnic problems highlighted in the novel. The author’s attitude to those issues was usually qualified by the critics as being Russophobic and once the accusation was made, the plot of the novel would be neglected, which testifies to the fact of all the reviewers being biased.

Abstract
This article is devoted to the featuring the anniversary of the 1991 Soviet coup d’état attempt on the pages of newspapers in 1993. The events of August 1991 did not disappear from the current field and were used both for the propaganda and for comprehending the past and forecasts for the future. The fact that a few months before the memorable date the trial of those arrested in the SCSE case began served to refresh the events in the public perception, and just a couple of weeks before that, an abridged version of the indictment was published in public sources.

Abstract
The article is about the coverage of European Parliament’s resolution “On the importance of European remembrance for the future of Europe” in the articles of web portal “Sputnik Estonia” which is a part of IIA “Rossiya segodnya” and is focused on the Baltic countries. The attitude on the Molotov– Ribbentrop Pact (that was signed in 1939 by USSR and the Hitler’s Germany) is analysed; this treaty is deeply condemned in the resolution and, oppositely, is justified by Russian politics and media. The articles of other Russian media contextually related to the topic are contemplated. The conclusion is about “Sputnik Estonia”’s propagandic matrix: the European countries are trying to rewrite the history what eventually may lead to the rehabilitation of Nazism. Russia is standing opposite to that and interpreting the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact and the consequences the right way. It seems that this matrix geared towards the senior generation of the Baltics’ citizens grown up on Soviet traditions.

Abstract
The article offers an analysis of Gavriil Kamenev’s poem “Dream”. The poem turns out to be a kind of a philosophic antiode: the author is consistently proving the vanity and fatality of a dream during the first fourteen stanzas and gives by contradiction his view of a positive ideal in the last one. The didactic nature of the poem causes the priority of rhetorical tasks both on compositional level (an amplification of the thesis given in the first stanza and a summary of the above said in 13th and 14th stanzas), and in the choice of the artistic means, most of which are rhetorical figures. Along with rhetorical means, poetic means are used: for example, the change of the object of speech causes the change of the genre and stylistic register, so Kamenev’s poem is not a plain verse publicism, but a not ordinary poetic case. The article also offers two conjectures making the meaning of the damaged during the first publication fragments clean.

Abstract
The article is devoted to the functioning of the synonymous words conscious and realized in media texts. The sources of the research were Kommersant publications that are widely distributed, including on the Internet, and that at the same time are classified as the high-quality press, what makes it possible to use those publications as representative material. The purpose of the article is to determine whether the word realized can be synonymous with the multivalued word conscious in all its meanings. It is concluded that the word realized is used as a synonym for the word conscious in all meanings, although some of them relate to the colloquial style. Moreover an active use of this word in media texts indicates the possible displacement of the word realized by the word conscious, especially in the journalistic style.
